WORSHIP DIRECTOR

Job Overview:
The Worship Director will serve as the primary worship leader for Church Project. The Worship Director will also serve as the developer of the worship team (instrumentalists, vocalists, and technical team members) – working alongside them to grow the worship ministry of Church Project.
Primary Responsibilities:
Personal
Maintain a vibrant pattern of prayer and other spiritual disciplines
Pursue personal spiritual growth and professional development as a worship leader
Meet with a member of the Pastoral Team or a person of their choosing for ongoing spiritual mentoring
Professional
Serve as the primary worship leader for Church Project
Attend weekly staff meetings if and when available
Attend worship gathering planning/debrief meetings as required
Design and develop a service flow around a worship theme, including choosing appropriate songs and incorporating other worship elements
Provide worship ministry oversight for weekly Sunday morning worship gatherings:
Ensure leadership is in place for each service
Coordinate with other worship leaders and wider worship/tech team as needed
Schedule and lead weekly rehearsal time
Take initiative to develop & expand various aspects of vibrant worship at CP:
Actively pursue and recruit new musicians and develop other musicians’ skill sets
Regularly listen to new worship music with a spiritually and theologically discerning ear
Develop a well known repertoire of worship songs for the CP congregation
Practice songs with the goal of memorization and internalization
Arrange and lead worship at the monthly First Wednesday service
Qualifications:
Must have musical training and worship leadership experience appropriate for this position.
Can clearly articulate their relationship with Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord.
Can understand and affirm Church Project’s Statement of Belief
Will consider Church Project Orange County to be their home church and attend accordingly.
Will be an active participant at one of Church Project’s weekly House Churches, under the care of a House Church pastor.
Supervision:
The Worship Director reports to the Lead Pastor, and will work alongside other members of the CP staff team.
Schedule and Compensation:
As this is a part-time ministry position, we desire for it to be manageable as secondary means of employment. The Worship Director is therefore a 12-15 hour per week position which is broken down as follows:
Preparation and Service Planning 30%
Weekday Evening Worship Rehearsal 30%
Sunday Morning Gatherings 40%
Rate of Pay:
Based on Experience.
